Pat Rogers

Mr. Pat Rogers is currently the Vice President, Environmental, for General Moly, Inc. He has served on the Nevada Water Resources Association Board of Directors since February, 2014.

Mr. Rogers received a B.S. in Geology from the University of Idaho (1982). According to Rogers, “1982 was a down period in the mining industry and jobs were scarce, so I went back to graduate school at the University of Idaho.” In 1985, he received his M.S. in Geology and completed a thesis on the genesis of barite deposits in northern Nevada.

Since 1985, Mr. Rogers has been involved in the Nevada mining industry. First, he worked as an exploration and mine geologist, then in open pit operations (mine surveyor). Since 1991, he has worked in environmental permitting, compliance and remediation. “Because I worked in consulting as well as for mining companies, I’ve had the opportunity to visit or work on a lot of mines in Nevada.”

Mr. Rogers has been involved in NWRA for a number of years. Initially, he and his staff took advantage of the courses that were offered. He first attended the Annual Conference in 2012 and has become increasingly involved since then.

Pat Rogers has several goals for NWRA including to, “continue to offer high quality technical courses and learning opportunities, increase membership by educating others about the value this organization provides and continue to provide networking opportunities throughout the range of disciplines related to water use in Nevada.” He would also like to, “use the cumulative expertise of the association to help members assess upcoming regulatory and legislative changes and potential effects of those changes.”
