2015 Student Scholarship Opportunities

Clare Mahannah Memorial $1000 Scholarship

Clare Mahannah, a pioneer in rural Nevada water resource issues and longtime member of the Nevada Water Resources Association, passed away on February 7, 2007, after a long battle with colon cancer. Clare left behind him a legacy in rural Nevada water resources issues. In honor of Clare’s memory, the NWRA is honored to assist with the Clare Mahannah Scholarship, which is funded by sponsors who wish to honor Clare’s legacy and recognize intelligent individuals pursuing a career in rural Nevada water resources. The scholarship assists the serious student with degree completion. The scholarship will be awarded to a student attending a Nevada university or community college. Qualified students must be pursuing a degree in the field of water resources. The 2015 application form must be received by December 1, 2014

NWRA Annual $1000 Scholarships

Every year the Nevada Water Resources Association provides two $1,000 scholarships to assist the serious student with degree completion. Scholarships are awarded to students attending a Nevada university or community college. One scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate and one is awarded to a graduate student. Qualified students must be pursuing a degree in the field of water resources. The 2015 application form must be received by December 1, 2014.

Scholarship Winners

Scholarships are awarded to students attending a Nevada university or community college. Qualified students must be pursuing a degree in the field of water resources. Recipients are announced at the Annual NWRA Conference, an annual conference that brings water professionals together to discuss critical water issues facing Nevada and the West. Each scholarship recipient receives $1000.
